a long time gone...
this whole blog thing is not an easy task for me, with great intentions but little action to write...
so what leads me to scribe now you may ask...
recently i was sitting in church in our hometown at Renovatus Church listening to the story of Jacob and Esau...
how Jacob through deception was blessed by his father Isaac instead of Esau...
so it made me realize that we don't truly understand the nature of the Lords blessing...
the Lord has this all out, full of utter excitement, passionate desire to show us and shower us with His blessing...
so what is it about this blessing...
that actual definition of the word is:
the invoking of Gods favor on a person...
Ephesians 3:1 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ...
God desires to show His favor in our lives, and often time we see it, we watch it, yet we leave it...
i feel the Lord gave me a basic childlike understanding of the meaning and idea of how He wants us to view the Blessing in which He so desires for us...
the first thing we must realize is that His blessing is not something that is limited or runs out, EVER...
currently sitting through a rain storm, think of the rain as His blessing, if we walk outside with an umbrella, we see it, we can feel it, yet we block it from actually touching us...
imagine walking out in the rain storm as a child, rain boots on and dancing in the puddles, arms wide open and face towards the sky, wanting to get hit by every drop...
this is the desire and vision the Lord has for us, He wants us to spread our arms wide, lift our face to Him, begging for His blessing, waiting for His blessing...
actually open to receiving His blessing...
i think we are scared of it...
a challenge, spend the next week talking to the Lord, and asking for his blessing to be poured on you in a way that is undeniable...
open your heart, your mind, you soul...
His blessing is full, His blessing is constant, His blessing is beyond what we can imagine...
don't ask for something specific, just asked to receive and understand His true and gracious gift of His blessing...
its a journey worth taking, no questions, no gimmicks, no doubts, just "RAD"
its over, now what!

a thousand words
"a post meant to be posted much earlier"
a picture is worth a thousand words, a simple phrase that has great meaning...
confucius, ivan turgenev, napoleon bonaparte, a few greats that once voiced this phrase...
pictures of scenery, animals, people...
living in montana the past 9months, no words can correctly capture the vast beauty of the land that i am surrounded by, it is beyond the reach of your imagination less you visit...
i sat with my parents one afternoon sharing photos, telling stories, trying to form a focused imagery outside the photo of topic to help them understand as best as possible the vastness of the state...
we began to flip through some of the photos and we came across a picture of a buffalo, "SERIOUSLY" my mom squealed in my ear, simply stated, serious, i was inches from a buffalo a creature of mass, a beautiful site at least...
then began to show pictures of my friends and share stories of what we would do till wee hours of the morning...
this can include but not limited to, hucking ourselves off the roof with are planks strapped to our feet landing in a manmade landing zone of the beauty we call snow...
running through the house with sweet moves, flips, and flying through hoops landing on non other the purple lovesac (look them up, they are amazing...
let us not forget, dry ice bombs...
there are many options, many outcomes, and much comradery amongst the 7 of us that live there, as well as the many other souls that consider it a 2nd home...
a house, a home, a community, a life...
a collection of many different cultures, brought together under one idea...
this idea built around one group...
young life...
this idea...
this movement...
Christ...
we need him, we want him, we desire him...
without him we have nothing...
with him we have it all...
nothing that we lack in this life...
we need nothing...
Christ...
its a journey worth taking, no questions, no gimmicks, no doubts, just "RAD"
its over, now what!

this thing called prayer...
i realize its been two months since allowing myself to take a few minutes to let my fingers strategically fall in the right place at the right time to form these things called words in a way that makes a sentance in order that my thoughts can be publicised...
on with it i say...
20 years have gone by that i have labled my self a christian, believer, follower of Christ...
as you may well know some of the most talked about topics in the "christian" realm are that of, daily scripture reading, praying, turning from your old ways and becoming a new...
these all seem accomplishable and are very much that...
one thing i have struggled with is what really is prayer?...
is it just talking to God, asking Him for something, thanking, praising...
this past week i heard someone say that prayer doesn't have to be nor should be a monologue but rather a dialogue...
something so simple, yet so very difficult...
we(I) are so caught up in our daily lives, being here on time, turning on the tv at a certain time to watch a show...
why is it that we can't STOP...
not that we shouldn't as scriptures state, pray without ceasing, but when is the last time we actually stopped and truly dialogued with the Creator of our lives, the one that died for us, the one that is...
1 kings 19, tells what i believe is one of the most important lessons we as christians can learn...
the Lord says to Elijah go, stand on the mountain in my presence, cause I AM about to pass by...
a tornado came, the Lord wasn't there...
earthquake came, the Lord again not there...
a massive fire came, again the Lord was not there...
then out of nowhere, there was nothing, no storm, no anything, only the sound of a gentle whisper...
which in hebrew is translated litterally to be ''the sound of sheer silence''...
there the Lord was and spoke with him...
i want to clearly state the Lord still communicates with us in our busyness...
you can agree that it is amazing to hear the Lord amoungst the craziness of our lives, can you imagine what would happen if we took the time to STOP...
what then would He tell you!?! how much would He tell you!?!...
He wants to have a conversation with us, but we are often to wrapped up in our world to take time to just be His child, let him teach us with out interuption, with out distractions, with out...
He wants to be our dad which is simply focused quality time...
just Him and you...
do we realized how powerful a statement that is...
the Creator of the universe wants us to STOP and listen and spill and love and worship and be with Him and nothing no one else...
STOP and listen, silence is golden...
we are our a journey to grow...
its a journey worth taking, no questions, no gimmicks, no doubts, just "RAD"

the begining
just as the blog states radical obedience is what brings me here in front of this screen...
though i do not understand at all why a person would need or want to read what has been generating in this oval shaped object resting on my shoulders...
why you may ask then am i doing a blog...let me explain...
a month ago i had the opportunity to take part in month long scientific study(lab rat) here in bozeman and now find myself sitting here in north hedges dorm on the Montana State University campus, pondering, processing, wondering, hoping...
and as i sit here and think back on the past couple weeks there have been a lot of things going on, from graduation of roommates, weddings, surprise trips that have failed(sad day)...and through all these events it has made me more curious about my future and whats next...
who knows whats next, i have plans for my next step, but only by faithfully following my God and taking that step will i figure out truly "what is next!"
never have i thought of myself as a writer, and i want to state that the purpose of this blog is simply to share my musings for the purpose of radical obedience, He has plans beyond my own...
